CSCI Internal Seminars

In order to promote efficient communication, exchange of ideas and collaboration amongst the stem cell community at Columbia, CSCI has organized a series of monthly meetings during the upcoming year in which students and postdocs from member laboratories from both campuses can present their latest research. This will be a productive venue for freely sharing unpublished data and discussion. Presenters are encouraged to select a story that will be of wide general interest.

Each meeting will feature two presentations, each 20 minutes maximum and 10 minutes for questions. There will be time for informal discussion at the end.

The meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at the Hammer Health Science Center, Room 312.Pizza and beverages will be provided at 3:15 pm and the talks/discussions will be held from 3:30- 4:30 PM.

The next meeting is on May 14, at 3:15 PM. The speakers are:

Xantha Karp (Greenwald lab)

" Maintenance of developmental potential and cell fate plasticity during C.Elegans dauer quiescence"

Naeem Islam (Bhattacharya lab)

""Rescuing bio-energetics in the septic lung using bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells'"

"ytometry dataher

Dr. Fiona Doetsch is in charge of organizing these internal seminars. PIs who would like to propose candidate speakers for consideration are requested to forward the name of their student/postdoc and a tentative title of his/her talk to him at: fkd2101@columbia.edu
