Seeking Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Postdoctoral Research Scientist

There is currently a position available in Dr. Andrew Sproul’s lab to help generate human pluripotent stem cell (PSC) models of Alzheimer’s disease, with a focus on late-onset AD (LOAD). Specific LOAD risk factors will be knocked into control PSC backbones using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. These isogenic PSC lines will subsequently be differentiated into disease-relevant cell types in both monolayer and organoid formats for functional assays. As this will be a very collaborative project with other research groups within the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and the Aging Brain, good communication skills are essential for this position.

Strong cell culture experience and previous molecular biology work are required. Preference will be given to candidates with stem cell, primary neuronal culture, or genome editing experience.

Please include an updated CV and cover letter with the application on the Columbia University application site.
